Tanzania, officially the United Republic of Tanzania, is a country in East Africa.
Tanzania ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and it’s Optional Protocol on November 10, 2009 and its Optional Protocol on May 12, 2008.

The Human Rights Defenders Committee of Tanzania has submitted cases that depict human rights violations of persons with disabilities in their country.
Visit to the National Human Rights Commission
Representatives from the Human Rights Defenders Committee met the Director of the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG) on April 12, 2013 and apprised him on various issues concerning the rights of disabled people in Tanzania. A productive dialogue was exchanged with the CHRAGG Director on the Committee and the activities that were being undertaken under the CIDA Project.
